DiVine Events, Premier Floral Design and Catering Company, Provides Design Trends for Summer 2011
(Las Vegas, NV) Cassie Howatt, Creative and Marketing Director for DiVine Events in Las Vegas, shares her tips for designing the perfect summer event decor incorporating the latest trends in color schemes and themes used in table and floral décor.
With guidance from color gurus – Pantone, the company that allocates the color trends each season, Howatt provides her own interpretation of this season’s hottest color palettes. Creating table, floral and décor themes, she emphases the importance of using different elevations, shapes, textures, and materials, while pairing the colors for summer to bring imaginative and gorgeous ensembles to life.
1.) The Fresh Nautical with a Twist design is achieved with the use of Navy blue, white and bright yellow. Deep navy blue linens were used to offset the bright yellow tulips, calla lilies, gerbera daisies and billy balls, contained in a variety of white ceramic vases including tall, square, round and shallow containers.
2.) Elegant Earthy Organic is the concept of the setting with a natural look infused with hints of sophistication. Moss green, champagne, and chocolate makeup the color scheme, accented with wooden touches. Moss green textured linen, tinted glass stemware, and dried moss spheres are highlighted with Champagne cloth napkins, chair covers, Sahara roses, and crystal blush calla lilies. Chair sashes, curly willow and natural wood vases added the rich chocolate color.
3.) Utilizing French blue, Mocha, and vanilla cream, Howatt creates a Vintage Country Garden with floral arrangements including Anemone, antique blue hydrangeas, agapanthus, and Sahara roses. The garden feel was enhanced with metal containers, milk jugs, and ceramic pots to hold the lush arrangements. Howatt incorporates another popular trend, customizing votives with paint and eyelet lace.
4.) For a whimsical and springtime impression, Howatt crafted the Outdoor Spring setting using coral, teal, and chocolate. Coral peonies, roses and gerbera daisies created the focus point with this hot trend color. A birdcage, ribbons, and a variety of galvanized tall containers added to the whimsical look, with a touch of orange in the glassware and ribbons.
5.) Touch of Glitz was the motivation for the head table design by Howatt with champagne, black, and aubergine color scheme. Champagne linens, Sahara roses, black runners, aubergine napkins, and purple Vanda orchids were enhanced with pops of color from purple artichokes, green cymbidium orchids, green button poms, orange dahlias, and orange pin cushions as well as natural accents of sandblasted grape vines and curly willows. Iridescent rhinestone trim and crystal candle holders added the glitz!
6.) Howatt’s take on aisle décor includes runners of moss trim spotted with a series of tall, clear, cylinder vases wrapped in ti leaves with submerged bright orange mokara orchids and topped with a floating candle.
Howatt further explains that any event- be it wedding, shower, birthday party, graduation celebration or company gathering can be turned into a memorable occasion with the décor that matches the theme and mood of the activity.

LAS VEGAS EVENT PLANNER-ENTREPRENEUR INDUCTED INTO WOMEN’S HALL OF FAME
Pamela Howatt joins other distinguished Nevada Business Women
(2009 – Las Vegas, NV) – Pamela Howatt, president and owner of DiVine Events was inducted into the Women’s Chamber of Commerce Nevada Women’s Hall of Fame for 2009.
“I feel honored and privileged to be included in the Hall of Fame with such distinguished Nevada women,” Howatt said about her induction.
Last year, the chamber nominated the local event planning entrepreneur for the Athena Leadership Awards, which is a step toward the Hall of Fame.
Howatt received congressional recognition from Representatives Dean Heller, Shelley Berkley and Dina Titus, Senatorial recognition from Senators Harry Reid and John Ensign and a Proclamation from the City of Las Vegas for the Hall of Fame honor.
Howatt purchased You Name it Events in 2005 and Inventive Incentives in 2007, merging the operations of DiVine Event Productions in 2008, and today know as DiVine Events. Prior to that, Howatt was an executive in the gaming industry.
She started her career at Harrah’s as the accounting and operations manager for Bill Harrah’s personal and privately-held businesses. Then Howatt planned meetings, trade shows and customer events all over the world in her 17-year career with International Game Technology, one of the world’s largest gaming equipment manufacturers. She then worked with Sodak Gaming and Mikohn Gaming. In 2000, she joined Bally Technologies as vice president of proprietary games until her departure in 2005. She was named one of 2005’s 10 Great Women in Gaming.
Howatt earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Nevada, Reno.
Her family-run business aids different organizations through the donation of food, décor and services.
Howatt, a committed philanthropist, supports Clark County Special Needs Adoption and Foster Parent programs, Street Teens, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance annual walkathon, Three Square, various scholarship programs, Assistance League of Las Vegas, Miracle Flights for Kids, Human Rights Campaign and Moms In Business Network. She received the National Association of Catering Executives Philanthropic Member of the Year award in 2008.
